Summary:
The Assistant Cultivation Manager oversees cultivation and production processes at the Cultivation facility, ensures the highest level of plant care and manages a team of Cultivation Technicians and Harvesters that support and maintain high-quality, top-grade cannabis production.
The Assistant Cultivation Manager leads the department in management, staffing, cost control, and innovation and measures success through continued development of the growing organization in systems, knowledge and expertise.
The Assistant Cultivation Manager ensures operational alignment between the harvest and cultivation functions and maintains adequate and appropriate supply levels to support the facility production schedule.
The Assistant Cultivation Manager leads the Cultivation Team and has oversight of production, trim and harvest, and general facility operations.
The Cultivation Manager's responsibilities include but are not limited to,1.
Leads the department in management, cost control, and innovation in the areas of, chemical, fertilizer and media strategy, biological control strategy, growth regulation strategies, section grower development, troubleshooting crop problems, recordkeeping database, equipment use/adaptation, safety/compliance, testing, lab and internal and trialing and documentation.

Exercises authority and discretion over operational processes and ensures the cultivation and harvest teams safely and efficiently meet production demands for quality and quantity.

Oversees the leadership and development process of the cultivation team by building a staff culture around positivity, quality initiatives, innovation, and continuous improvement, and creating an environment as an overall great place to work.

Manages cultivation efforts including those focused on plant quality, shrink reduction and order fulfillment, and is responsible for greenhouse environments, irrigation practices, Intergraded Pest Management and plant growth regulators.
5.
Collaborates with other growers and company leadership in development of systems and processes to improve safe, sustainable and on-time execution of production plans.
6.
Trains, manages, and oversees the safety of workers in the production area(s) and ensures compliance with standard operating procedures.
7.
Manages, supervises, evaluates and reviews the work and performance of employees; mentors' team in best practices for cultivation; and assists in employee selection, training, employee development, and goal setting.
8.
Ensures a clean and compliant cultivation operation.
9.
Compiles and maintains records of all cultivation activities and complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
10.
Leads continuous improvement initiatives to maximize productivity levels through efficiencies in human capital, reduction of material waste, and elimination of downtime; continues to develop and improve cultivation program and best practices.

Contributes to team environment and company advancement per strategic direction set by leadership.

Maintains adequate supplies and equipment for cultivation13.
Coordinates preventative maintenance and repairs with external contractors.
14.
Responds to and addresses equipment failures and unexpected occurrences in a timely manner to minimize downtime / product loss.
The Assistant Cultivation Manager requires a Bachelor degree in Business, Agriculture, Plant Biology or related.
The position requires a minimum of five years' experience working in large-scale commercial, production, nursery or cultivation environment; with strong knowledge of techniques and equipment for planting, growing, and harvesting cannabis products for consumption, including storage/handling techniques.
Must have knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of consumable products.
Prior educational or specialized training in agronomy, horticulture, botany, plant pathology, plant sciences or plant biology and working knowledge of biological controls strongly desired.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted.
Salary:
$63 per hour.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
